Early music is born afresh with the enthusiasm of this youthful choir, and their young voices. The future meets up with the past, gathering a precious heritage that they turn into a tool for musical and personal growth. The intertwining young voices in the Coro Desmos blend to produce a sound that in its purity and passion evokes the atmosphere of the Renaissance. This enchanting polyphony is accompanied and enriched by the authentic old instruments of the Ensemble Simonetta della Civica Scuola di Musica “Claudio Abbado”.
The Josquin Des Jeunes project aims to bring young people closer to early polyphony. The approach is faithful to the original practice of those times, but it lends itself to modern interpretation, suitable for a mixed choir. Alongside some elements of novelty, their respect for the early practice is reinforced by the authentic instruments, and by their observance of the tempo proportions in the different sections of the Messa, based on close study of the theory of those times.
