Nicola Piovani

A musical story, narrated by the instruments on stage – a piano, double bass, percussion, saxophone, guitar, cello and accordion. Breezing through this free musical trip,  Nicola Piovani explains the sense of these fragmented paths that have led him to combine the works of De André, Fellini, Magni, Spanish, French and Dutch directors, from theater, cinema, television, singers with their instruments, alternating items never presented in theaters, with new versions of better known pieces, arranged for the occasion. In the theater the word can get where music cannot go but music can set the mood the word does not know and cannot reach. Videos are used to fill out the narrations with fragments from films, shows, and – above all – images that artists like Milo Manara have dedicated to Piovani’s music.
