Nikolaus Harnoncourt noted how rare it is to hear string instrument players showing such devotion to groove. Wolfgang Muthspiel sustained that the BartolomeyBittmann group easily reaches the heart of musical virtue, in a way not usually associated with classical instruments – unrestrained joy and extreme rhythm! Harnoncourt also said he found the music was composed superbly and executed excellently!
BartolomeyBittmann’s musicians are united in their respect for the sound of each instrument and their shared passion for creating new sonority. The cellist Matthias Bortolomey and the violinist and mandola player Klemens Bittmann are tracing new routes for their instruments so deeply rooted in classical tradition.
Their music combines the spontaneity and improvisation of jazz and strong rock rhythms as easily as intimate ballads and more lively compositions.
The unusual location – the Logistica Herno, in Lesa, provides a special setting for this performance.  This is a show for everyone – certainly not to be missed!
