Possessing an extraordinary memory and passionate musical curiosity, Baeva holds an already vast and rapidly expanding active repertoire, including over fifty violin concerti. She is a champion of lesser known works alongside the more mainstream violin literature, with recent performances promoting such composers as Bacewicz, Karaev, Karłowicz, and Silvestrov.
Alëna Baeva is one of the star violinists of the new generation, with all the makings of joining the lists of the great violinists on today’s international scene. On stage she transforms everything with her intensity, communicativity, empathy and beautiful sound. Her program is classical, from the traditional repertoire, with Franck’s well-known Sonata in la major, then pages by Schubert, Janáček and Rachmaninoff. Dmitry Ablogin accompanies her on the piano.
